    Clair Letter Feedback
    Clair,
Your letter is very thorough and provide parents with all the necessary information. I like how you spelled out exactly what the students will be doing and what you will be doing to ensure safety. I also think it was a good idea to include the students' guidelines. By being proactive with this letter, you will take care of any questions or concerns parents may have. Good job!

    Dawn Lesson Plan Feedback
    Dawn,
I like how you broke the lesson over a couple days. It is a good idea to have the students practice blogging in a safe, contained environment. I also think it is good to discuss appropriate comments. Maybe you could preview a blog and have students find examples of comments? This would still be a safe, real world environment. Nice work!

    Kelly Lesson Plan Feedback
    Kelly,
I like how you discussed the benefits and what to watch when creating blogs. I think it is important for students to see the good that blogs can bring rather than just the possible negatives. The only suggestion I would have is to maybe include how your students will be using the blog specifically for your class. Good work!

Day 2: Students will practice blogging by "wall blogging" using the SmartBoard. Students will critique which comments are most appropriate and which comments should be improved to meet class standards for appropriate responses to each other. Teacher will post image of the "wall blogging" to the class blog to serve as a reminder of blogging etiquette.
Day 3 and beyond: Students will begin logging on to the blog and posting their answers to questions about character, setting, plot, theme. In the first five minutes of class, the class will discuss any issues they see on the blog and will decide as a class how to handle the issues (such as outside comments, questionable responses, online safety concerns, etc.).

    Dawn-

Really like the fact you break this lesson down to 3 days and build on the previous lesson. The LangWitches information is very good, thanks for providing that for future use. It certainly looks like the group will have a clear understanding of blogging and how to apply safe standards to their work.

    Kelly Letter Feedback
    Kelly-

Your permission letter is really good. It is very clear on what the students will be doing and how they will be graded for participating in the blog. If I were a parent reading this, I would be very comfortable having my student participate. You give a sense of a environment that will be very safe and I would not have any worries.

    Clair Lesson Feedback
I really like the NetSmatz information that you include in this for the different levels of students. Having the students review about blogs is a great way to open up discussion and then they can always go back to the tips you provide.
